Wild Dagga is a colorful garden plant that mainly occurs in Southeast Africa. The leaves and flowers have been used in that region for several hundred years as a medicine and remedy for snake bites. It literally means "Wild Cannabis", but it is also known as "lion tail".
Jan van Riebeek, our fellow countryman who founded the first trading post of the VOC in Africa, possibly took the plant to the Netherlands around 1650. The properties of Wild Dagga have also made it popular in Europe for a while. Here it is mainly recreational users who use Wild Dagga as a replacement for Cannabis. Because Leonurine, the active substance of Wild Dagga, is compared to Cannabis. But it is milder, you get a wonderful calmness, a euphoric feeling and visual effects. Wild Dagga also has medicinal properties, such as suppressing fever and headaches. The leaves of this mint plant are also used to make tea.

Use
Add 0.5 to 1 gram to a cup of boiling water and let it steep for 10-15 minutes. If necessary, add some honey and drink it.
