Turnera diffusa, known as damiana, is a plant found in Southwest Texas in the United States, Central America, Mexico, South America, and the Caribbean. The plant belongs to the passion flower family. It is known that the Aztecs used damiana against impotence and the Maya took it as a stimulant.
The plant has small aromatic flowers with a scent reminiscent of figs. It has a mild relaxing effect and acts as a sexual stimulant because it contains substances that stimulate the nerves of the genitals. When used for a longer period of time, it increases potency. In women, Damiana promotes hormone balance.
Damiana can be smoked or drunk as a tea. In combination with Muira Puama, the erotic effect is further enhanced.
Usage and dosage
Add 10 to 15 grams of damiana herb to a liter of water and let it boil slowly (5 min). After it has cooled, you can strain it and take a few cups of it. You can also dissolve the powder in juice, water or mix it with the yogurt.
